Data Analyst

A first-of-its-kind culinary operating system created for chefs, by chefs, meez is the epitome of user-friendly, built with operational empathy and ever-evolving product updates via industry feedback. meez is the tool that chefs have been waiting for, featuring offerings such as collaborative and sharable recipe databases, laser accurate ingredient costing, automated recipe scaling and conversions, customized training capabilities, specialized allergen identification and nutrition calculations, and much more. Currently in use by over 8000 chefs and across hundreds of kitchens over five continents, meez has quickly taken the culinary world by storm as the must-have recipe solution.

We are projected to grow over 300% in the next 12 months. We have a lot of work and exciting milestones ahead and are looking for a hands-on Data Analyst to join us on this journey.

Our ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment. You'll be a big part of building and growing the first ever digital tool built specifically for professional culinary creators and operators.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with our Lead Data Scientist, Biz Dev, Customer success and Product teams to develop an understanding of user behavior and opportunities for product improvement using data.
  • Work with business intelligence tools. 
  • Analyze, measure, and track the performance and success of product features.
  • Create quarterly team reports and presentations focused on the financial health of the business including insights on revenue trends, user & category analysis, the impact of pending deals, and identifying revenue growth opportunities.
  • Build out ad-hoc revenue models and system dashboards tailored to a given situation
  • Additional project management, analysis, and reporting as requested

Must Haves:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a business analyst, data analyst, analytics engineers, data researcher, or data scientist. 
  • Experience writing efficient SQL within complicated data schemas.
  • Experience with data cleaning, maintenance, and most importantly QA.
  • Knowledge of different data structures like dictionaries / JSON.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to soundly discuss data analysis.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated with a passion for pixel perfection, consistency, organization, usability, and discoverability.
  • A passion for, or deep appreciation of, food, cooking and the culinary community at large.
  • A commitment to our First Principles.

Preferred but Not Required:

  • Experience writing automated scripts in Python.
  • Experience with Snowflake, dbt, and Fivetran.
  • Experience with causal analysis.
