Currently in use by over 8000 chefs and across hundreds of kitchens over five continents, meez has quickly taken the culinary world by storm as the must-have recipe solution.

We are projected to grow over 300% in the next 12 months. We have a lot of work and exciting milestones ahead and are looking for a hands-on Software Engineer to join us on this journey.

Our ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment. You'll be a big part of building and growing the first ever digital tool built specifically for professional culinary creators and operators.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Engineer performant and scalable software, implement automation tools (Python, Django, Node, Bash) and configuration management tools (Terraform, CDK)
  • Manage our cloud infrastructure (AWS) and ensure high availability, scalability, and security
  • Monitor our systems and applications and proactively identify and troubleshoot issues
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools such as AWS CodeBuild, Github Actions, CircleCI
  • Work with developers to optimize the performance of our applications, databases, search, and caches
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents as needed
  • Collaborate with other teams (e.g. Frontend, Backend, QA, and Product) to ensure the smooth operation of our systems

Must Haves

  • 4+ years of experience in Software Engineering with some DevOps/SRE flavor.
  • Proficiency in cloud infrastructure (AWS, Docker) and running systems in production.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, Node) and configuration management tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, SAM).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated with a passion for pixel perfection, consistency, organization, usability, and discoverability.
  • A passion for, or deep appreciation of, food, cooking and the culinary community at large.
  • A commitment to our First Principles.

Preferred but Not Required

  • Experience with Django, React, and TypeScript.
  • Experience running Django in production, at scale.
  • Experience with Datadog, Sentry, Lighthouse, and similar tools.
  • Experience with ECS, RDS (Postgres), Elasticsearch, Memcached, and SQS.
  • Experience with data tools like Fivetran, Snowflake, and DBT.
