In fact, we aim to become the universal standard recipe tool for all culinary professionals. To reach this goal, we use first principle thinking (see list below) to operate as a team.

We’re a fun bunch of individuals who are passionate about food and beverage, technology and organization (our name “meez” comes from the term “mise en place”). We’re a remote team spread around the United States, Mexico, Costa Rica, and beyond!

About Us

meez is built for chefs by chefs. It all started in 2003 when our CEO Josh Sharkey lost a notebook full of priceless recipes. Then a young chef, he vowed to never lose a notebook again.


Josh went on to cook in storied kitchens and build his own fast casual concept, and his idea for meez evolved far beyond just a recipe storage system.

Almost 20 years since that lost notebook, meez is a comprehensive digital recipe management system that's improving the lives of culinary professionals everywhere.
