ABOUT josh

Josh Sharkey is a chef-operator turned entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in the industry - from Michelin-starred restaurants to fast-growing, multi-unit groups. After cooking for some of the best chefs in the world like Gray Kunz, David Bouley, Floyd Cardoz, and Rick Moonen, he went on to open and scale his own concepts, including Bark Hot Dogs, which earned national recognition for bringing chef-driven thinking into the fast-casual space.

He spent five years as the Chief Operating Officer of Aurify Brands (Melt Shop, The Little Beet, Little Beet Table, Fields Good Chicken, and Le Pain Quotidien) while developing meez. During the pandemic, Sharkey used meez’s technology to create Recipes for Relief, an initiative that made interactive recipes available for purchase with 100% of proceeds going towards restaurant relief. meez officially launched to the public in early 2021 after a year of beta testing with chefs and restaurants.

Josh also hosts The meez Podcast, where he interviews world-class chefs, operators, and food entrepreneurs who are shifting how the industry innovates and operates—balancing creativity, culture, and operational discipline. He believes in building technology with empathy and maximal ease of use, ensuring software always conforms to how we operate, and fervently focusing on the finer details.
